As of Android 8, root blocking is impossible and RCB will default to rootless mode, which does not block SMS at all. There are specialized applications that will do better than RCB defined as the default email application.
I do not provide direct technical support for this application. You can send logs through the settings and I review them in a timely manner, but do not expect an answer – I work on this application in all free time, I find.
